The Opportunity: Principal, Portfolio Operations Team

We are seeking a talented individual to join ICONIQ Growth's highly strategic Portfolio Operations team to help drive commercial and strategic opportunities between the technology companies in our portfolio and our broader ecosystem of industry-leading businesses with particular focus on the healthcare industry.

The Portfolio Operations team delivers on ICONIQ Growth's mission to be the partner of choice for leading tech founders and companies by:

  • Expanding and partnering with ICONIQ's unique ecosystem of family office clients, portfolio companies, LPs, and broader network to drive commercial and strategic advantages for our portfolio companies and broader firm ecosystem.
  • Building differentiation in terms of quality of network, strength of relationship, breadth of reach, relevance of insights, and the quality of the partnership we provide to our founders, as well as the value of the resources we provide to leaders of large enterprises across our ecosystem.
  • Driving value to ICONIQ Growth portfolio partners, through the creation of relevant commercial, strategic, and knowledge-sharing opportunities/connectivity as well as thought-partnership on commercial positioning, market expansion, industry trends and perspectives of leading decision-makers in healthcare.


The Portfolio Operations team engages three distinct types of partners:
  • ICONIQ portfolio companies - understanding their expansion strategy and identifying top strategic and commercial opportunities to generate value across the ICONIQ network.
  • ICONIQ LP and Corporate Partner Network - Engaging Global 2000 C-Level & VP-Level industry leaders tolearn top priorities, technology gaps/transitions, and parsing out trends across different industries. Advise corporate executives and serve as a resource on digital transformation initiatives.
  • ICONIQ Growth Investing Partners - Informing our Growth Investing teammates of enterprise buyer feedback on specific solutions and companies and helping our team earn the opportunity to invest in the best-in-class companies.


Principal Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management
  • Support the expansion & mapping of ICONIQ's network of senior leader relationships by:
    • Performing network connectivity research
    • Collaborating with other ICONIQ teams to effectively leverage our collective networks.
  • Develop relationships with management teams of portfolio companies and identify best approaches to support their success from a commercial and strategic relationship standpoint.
  • Support the facilitation of relevant commercial or strategic introductions amongst portfolio companies, network relationships and prospects.


Investment Support
  • Assemble information gathered from networking activities to inform portfolio companies on trends and strategic priorities of key customer verticals with a focus on payers, providers, pharmaceutical, medical device companies, and other key constituents in healthcare.
  • Support relationship coverage plan within the Portfolio Ops and Growth Investment team to ensure thoughtful coordination.
  • Build and maintain presentations and marketing materials to inform team members on network, stories of connectivity and value creation, as well as for internal reporting and training purposes.


Corporate Partner Management
  • Regularly engage corporate executives to explore tech priorities, objectives, and challenges
    • Advise on digital transformation strategy and surface relevant technology.
  • Drive events with founders, corporate executives and thought leaders to produce insight sharing across our portfolio and network.
    • Events include:
      • Tech Days / Emerging Technology Sessions: Facilitating meetings between leading growth technology companies and large enterprises. Gather feedback and share insights on the future of relevant tech landscapes.
      • Trends Presentations: Presenting on tech trends to small or large corporate groups.
      • Round Table Discussions/Dinners: Gathering tech founders and healthcare leaders for discussions on digital transformation opportunities and challenges.
      • Panel Discussions / Fireside Chats: Forming content and audiences to promote growth technology companies to enterprise audiences within the ICONIQ network.


Qualifications:

Professional Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong and trusted relationships
  • Candidate should have an established senior-level corporate network they can engage on behalf of ICONIQ portfolio companies (ideally with C-level and/or VP-level technology and operational leaders)
  • Experience managing complex projects from concept through implementation.
  • Management and team building experience
  • Comfort working with a variety of both internal and external constituents
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - experience working closely with, presenting to, and corresponding via email with senior audiences
  • Strong grasp of business and technology fundamentals
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years' experience in an adjacent space such as: a health industry consulting (e.g., Deloitte, PwC, E&Y, Slalom), research & advisory (e.g., Gartner, Forrester), media organizations (World Economic Forum), or an enterprise software business development/partnership (SAP, Epic, Cerner, Veeva, etc.)

Location: Applicants are expected to work onsite in our San Francisco or New York office in accordance with our hybrid working policy.

Compensation Range: ICONIQ is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role, together with other compensation being offered such as a discretionary bonus, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At ICONIQ, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation terms. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $175,000.00-$200,000.00 together with a discretionary bonus, health insurance, paid time off, 401k participation with a company matching program, wellness stipend, personal education allowance as well as a commuter benefits program.
