Think of this as an advertisement. More likely than not, you’re pretty good at writing copy for yourself, so write a headline that gives them a top-level impression of who you are and what you do.
Start with a slightly flattering adjective that puts you and your approach to being a Marketing Assistant in a positive light, like: ambitious, friendly, professional, diligent or team-oriented.
Then add a word or two to describe your level of experience: junior, entry-level, lead, executive, etc.

The third and fourth lines are optional. Don’t get salesy here and try to include content you don’t have. The first two lines are plenty to land you an interview. However, if you have the accolades and experience, here’s what goes into lines three and four:
In line three, list the highlights of your Marketing Assistant career like notable projects, achievements or milestones.
In line four, add any awards or promotions you’ve received for your work.
Again, these last two lines are optional. Don’t reach.

Instead of listing your daily duties and responsibilities, focus on the results of your work’s contributions. This involves a little storytelling (as all great marketing does).
First, list your previous work positions with the most recent role first. For each position, include your official job title, dates of employment and previous employer (refer to the resume example for formatting).
Under each role, you’ll add a bullet point list that highlights the value and success you brought to that organization as their Marketing Assistant. Here’s how:
Start each bullet point with a strong success verb.
Replace any passive verb like managed, performed, operated, or “was responsible for,” with actions that imply the positive outcome of your work, like advanced, generated, reduced, maximized or resolved.

Add as many numbers as possible.

The education section provides context for your work experience. There’s no need to add more than the bare essentials:

- Dates of attendance
- Degree(s) you obtained
- Awards and Honors
The sports, extracurricular activities and affiliations can be left off your resume entirely. As for degrees you started but never finished, leave those off, too.
Keep the focus on your work and the results of your work to land that interview.
