Job Description:

The PsychiatricEmergency Center is located on the 10th floor of John Peter Smith Hospital'smain building and is the only Psychiatric Emergency Center in Tarrant County. Ahighly skilled team of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, socialworkers and support personnel provide 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week services forpeople in mental health crisis, both voluntary and involuntary services. Peoplecan receive triage, evaluation, observation and admission services.

The PsychiatricEmergency Center focuses on all individuals that present for evaluation. Themultidisciplinary team assesses the person and their situation to coordinatecare for the best possible treatment plan. Primarily adult patients, with also someadolescents.

Job Summary:
Psychiatric Triage
Psychiatric Evaluation
Short term interventions including observation, monitoring and stabilization of acute crisis
Referral services that meet the needs of the individual person
Evaluation for admission to an Acute Inpatient Units

Schedule:

Full Time - 12 hour shifts (8:00 - 8:00). Must be flexible to work days/night/weekends

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:
• Current Medical Doctor (M.D) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited school of medicine.
• Residency and/or Fellowship training within specialty.

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
• Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Texas.
• Board Certification or Board Eligible.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Previous experience working in a PEC as a student or faculty member preferred, but not required
