Job Description Summary
American Axle & Manufacturing is seeking a Product Engineer - Powder Metal with a strong work ethic and motivation to join our world-class Engineering team.

Job Description
  • Collaborate with teams from different departments to resolve project requirements and specifications.
  • Participate in the new business pursuit process by designing and developing powder metal components and systems.
  • Conduct performance and durability testing to ensure products and process meet or exceed performance requirements.
  • Analyze and interpret test data to optimize design and manufacturing processes.
  • Support manufacturing operations by providing technical guidance and resolving production issues.
  • Work closely with suppliers to select materials and components that meet design requirements.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to continuously improve product performance.
  • Actively contribute to design reviews and collaborate on product improvements.
  • Strictly adhere to quality standards and procedures throughout the product lifecycle
  • Successfully implement engineering changes and improvements to enhance product functionality.


Required Skills and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in product engineering, preferably in powder metal applications
  • Proficiency in CAD software for design and analysis
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and working with suppliers
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with diverse teams.
