Job Description

Under supervision, with latitude for independent judgment and decision making, the Assistant Director coordinates and expedites the development or projects related to several OBH administrative projects especially those related to the Opioid Settlement Fund and other crisis programs. This position assists in expediting the development of more complex projects as appropriate and required. The following are typical tasks for this position:

GENERAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
  • Maintains a management information system to provide data for the planning and control of project development
  • Works closely with the Director of Administrative affairs to manage procurement process for all OBH programs
  • Assist with maintaining OBH's OTPS budgets; track expenses and make recommendations regarding costs for current and upcoming projects
  • Provides oversight and support of Opioids settlement infrastructure requests.
  • Establishes project time and cost schedules.
  • Provide technical support for OBH initiative BH4NYC, disbursement of student loans repayments to eligible Behavioral Health Clinicians, as well as Peer Academy Peer Stipends program.
  • Plan, track and report on the performance of multiple ongoing projects; improve efficiency and streamline processes
  • Determines and coordinates the activities required between the persons, agencies and departments responsible for project completion.
  • Works closely with the Director of Administrative affairs to assist with OBH staffing needs; review and assemble documentation required to submit to Divisional Administrator and Human Resources
  • Assists in overseeing the consultant contracting process. Maintain relationships with external vendors; manage payment schedules related to tasks deliverables.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule and budget
  • Provide technical guidance in the development of administrative and operational support of OBH initiatives Opioid Settlement Training program, Family Justice Center, Mental Health
  • Service Corps, the Peer Academy and PMCS/BHA program.
  • Organizes, plans, executes, reports and evaluates project and program goals and objectives.
  • In the temporary absence of immediate supervisor, may assume the duties of that position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

Educational and/or experience requirements will vary requiring diverse kinds and levels depending on the content, complexity and variety of project. Compensation levels will correspond to the requirements developed for the designated project.

In no event will the acceptable minimum be below:
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in a specialization discipline consistent with project content; and,
2. Four years of substitutable and relevant health care experience related to the objectives of the project; or,
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, training and education.

Department Preferences

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years post-graduate experience in a related field (e.g. public health, workforce development, administration)
  • Proactive and detail-oriented
  • Experience collecting, analyzing and presenting data for internal stakeholders
  • Experience and organize in coordinating budgets data
