Job Description:
The Network Contracting Manager oversees the negotiation, execution, and maintenance of provider contracts, demonstrating sound business decisions and developing relationships of trust. The incumbent will support network development and contracting, special projects and negotiations across multiple assigned specialties and will work with all levels of staff and management to administer the contract negotiations, review, documentation, implementation, and signature process to ensure compliance with Intermountain Health standards. This position manages a team of contracting professionals and is responsible for coaching junior representatives and informing leadership on strategic issues.

Position Details:

The Network Contracting Manager demonstrates core leadership competencies including: building strategic work relationships, coaching, communication, customer focus, facilitating change, financial acumen, and planning and organizing. The incumbent of this role will build relationships that cultivate provider network partnerships and create collaboration for value-based business opportunities to support market strategies and assists with network development planning, contract negotiations and special projects.

This position is based in the Nevada Central Office. Incumbent will work Monday-Friday during regular business hours.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise with negotiation, execution, and maintenance of provider contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise working with financial and contracting arrangements, and regulatory requirements in compliance with contract templates and pricing standards.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise working with and analyzing contracts.
  • Experience in a role requiring sound business decisions and developing relationships of trust.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Demonstrated history or working independently and executing organizational goals with minimal oversight.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Healthcare Administration or a business related field. Degrees must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
  • Six years professional experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams in executing partnerships and contracts with hospitals or health plans.
  • Experience working in provider network contracting including value-based agreements.
  • Experience negotiating health plan contracts with hospitals and physician groups.
  • Demonstrated understanding of provider reimbursement methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent writing, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project-based work and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective strategic business relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions and strategic suggestions.
  • Demonstrated proactive initiative.
  • Clinical or health insurance experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team setting. i.e., assisting team in reaching team goals, taking on additional workloads when necessary to support the team and constructively coaching in a positive manner.
  • Ability to think and communicate strategically on various health care related topics.
  • Management level experience.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$43.24 - $66.74
