Exciting opportunity to drive new business for Optum Financial. Health Benefit Accounts (whether HSA, FSA or other notional accounts) are an important part of any employee benefit offering. The ideal candidate will engage benefit consultants and brokers as well as employers and sharing the value proposition that is unique to Optum in order to win new business. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify, prospect, and establish new customers within a determined territory
  • Build Strategic Partnerships with consultants, brokers and distribution channel partners. Build solid relationships with key partners to maximize product sales and portfolio balance
  • Establish new employer relationships selling account-based services (HSA's, FSA, HRA and COBRA)
  • Meet annual sales goals, sales activity targets, developing sales plans and calling strategies,
  • Conduct / participate in sales presentations and conferences creating an awareness of Optum Financial Services' products and services - travel will be necessary for conferences and in person meetings
  • Develop new relationships within networks to mine new Employer referrals
  • Maintain an ongoing relationship with partners to encourage new business referrals and to support partners with technical assistance
  • Own / lead sales process and client engagement through the sale, coordinating with all necessary parties (ex. legal, pricing, finance, RFP etc.) to close a sale

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of sales development experience, business development experience, or a combination of both
  • 2+ years of experience calling on decision makers and economic buyers
  • 2+ years of sales and marketing experience including growing a business or portfolio of clients/distribution partners within the health insurance/financial services industry
  • 2+ years of experience working with CDH programs (HSA/HRA/FSA); Wellness programs; COBRA; Investments
  • Proven ability to travel frequently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience to effectively message, position and present information for client impact and influence
  • Experience in negotiation, influencing, collaboration, and listening skills
  • Experience with CRM (ex. Salesforce)
  • Proven ability to operate and effectively navigate in a highly complex environment with a high level of collaboration
  • Proven excellent written and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, with an attention to detail and high-quality standards

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $130,000 annually. Role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
