Job Purpose/Summary:

Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to the following: act as liaison between a business department, maintenance & engineers. Perform technical support assignments as well as coach and mentor other team members. Test, analyze and resolve Plant hardware and/or software errors in a timely and accurate fashion. Create and maintain documentation. Train end users on established programs; provide on-call support and problem resolution for Legacy Keystone, SAP, Controls software and hardware applications; work with end-user groups closely to assist with aligning technology with department goals; assist in developing system application architecture; aid in developing scope and requirements for Controls projects for a business unit; aid in development and execution of project plans; conduct acceptance testing to ensure that the functional and business requirements are met by the provided solution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managerial oversight and technical support to capital projects.
  • Responsible for supervising Automation Tech & Computer Techs, approximately 4-5 FTE's
  • Develop and provide technical maintenance support systems and processes.
  • Develop plans and supply drawings for physical security and surveillance projects.
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships.
  • Develop and implement process improvements and infrastructure projects related to PLC's and other computer hardware
  • Assist in manufacturing strategic planning.
  • Key member of overall facility Engineering & Maintenance organization.
  • Identify, evaluate and implement alternative utility/building infrastructure maintenance support resources and services.
  • Develop and recommend annual infrastructure budget for Automation and plant floor systems.


Requirements:

Education/Certifications: BS in Information Technology or equivalent

Experience: 7 plus years in a technical related field.

Computer Skills: High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, as well preferred experience with Schneider/ Modicon, AB/Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or similar programming software and hardware platforms; experience in the following areas: developing, reviewing and/or modifying specifications configurations and or programs to meet process requirements; analyzing and interpreting control systems proposals and evaluating and developing alternative implementation plans.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills; ability to communicate technical information to non-technical team members.

Special Skills: Ability to provide constructive feedback to other team members; working knowledge of relevant multi-user computer systems applications and or equipment; knowledge of current Controls/Automation technology developments and trends; extensive problem-solving skills; experience developing and executing test plans; basic project management capabilities; experience developing good working relationship with business area team members; basic SQL and data analysis skills.
