Start with your first and last name at the top and center in a font that’s professional and legible, then make it slightly larger than the rest of the text.
Underneath, add your contact information: phone number, email address and location (city and state).

Professional Headline
Imagine your resume as an advertisement. Your recruiter has an idea of the Radiation Therapist they’re looking for: the educational and certification requirements, technical capabilities and familiarity with imaging and machines and the attitude that will fit their oncology team with high-quality care that represents their organization.
In three to five words, your professional headline should immediately grab their attention by showing them that you’re the perfect candidate to fulfill those needs.

This is where you’ll highlight the success you bring to the oncology team and most importantly, to your patients.

Quantifying your success into metrics makes your work experience that much more impressive.
Your job is all about the details, so get as granular as you do on your chart checks.
Include the daily quality control checks and the efficiency of the accelerators you’ve managed. Add the attention to detail you apply to each chart check to ensure that every treatment is 100% accurate to the treatment plan in prescription, location and parameters. Finally, include stats on the size of your workload, team, number of oncologists you worked with and any training you performed.
Add as many numbers as possible in each bullet point. Each data point brings you that much closer to an interview.
Promotions
Promotions highlight your success to a potential employer through the eyes of a third-party. In addition to showcasing the success you brought to the oncology department, you have documentation that the work you performed was worth rewarding and that previous employers trust you.
That’s powerful data to gain the interest of any recruiter.
Education
Here, you’ll factually display your educational background. Be precise and accurate when including the following information:
- Where you attended school
- Your dates of attendance
- The degree(s) obtained
- Awards and/or honors received
